Google, Apple, BT and Arm executives to speak at the world’s first Cambridge Tech Week

22 February 2023, Cambridge: Cambridge will host the inaugural Cambridge Tech Week (CTW23) from 9-12 May 2023, celebrating the ideas of the future in artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors and quantum technologies. CTW23 positions the city and the UK in the world spotlight by uniting companies, organisations and academic institutions and showcasing the best of the region and its cutting-edge technology. Designed for those who are instrumental in creating and defining world-leading tech to come together under the theme of ‘Finding The Future’ to unlock technology’s power for global impact.

Over the week, confirmed speakers include:

• Patrick Pichette, former Chairman at Twitter

• Howard Watson, Chief Security and Networks Officer of BT Group

• Whitney Richardson, Aesthetics Scientist at Apple

• Kirsty Gill, Chief People Officer of Arm

• Toju Duke, Program Manager for Responsible AI at Google

There will be discussions around the latest in AI and deep technologies, from the importance of quantum in a data-heavy world, the future of work, sustainability and investment, and the UK’s strategic position in semiconductors globally to name a few. By homing in on AI and deep tech, local, regional, national and international collaboration will be promoted over the course of the week. An eclectic mix of fringe events will also take place across Cambridge, representing different interest groups and technology use cases.

The week will also feature the first ‘Big Tech Debate’, to be held at the Cambridge Union Debating Chamber. Delegates will have the space to pose questions on the biggest issues and opportunities in technology today, to those at the forefront of the ecosystem. The interactive session gives a unique format where the economic, societal, political impacts and consequences of the use of technology will be discussed in a world-famous setting.

In addition, CTW23 is launching the Innovation Alley Awards. Successful startups will have the opportunity to showcase their idea over the first two days of the week, and winners will be announced during CTW23. To apply click here.
